The kitchen has become more than just a place to prepare meals. Families use modern kitchens as gathering places, and because of our busy lives, it often replaces traditional dining rooms as the place to share meals. With these facts in mind, I have concentrated my designs to be beautiful, robust and just as important, comfortable.
I can remember sitting at the kitchen counter as a child, watching my mother prepare the family meal (which, because of three ravenous brothers and a hard working father, was no small task). Mom seemed to spend most of her day in the kitchen. My brothers and I would sit at the counter and talk to her while she worked. In that particular house, we had those awful chrome metal barstools which swiveled and squeaked endlessly. Despite this, those memories are some of the happiest of my childhood.
I wish for your family to share similar memories (sans the metal barstools, of course).
